Primary Protest is acrylic on canvas. This particular piece of art was inspired by the multitude of complex emotions felt during recent political times- the ideologies, party loyalties, integrity and passion to name but a few. The depth of paint upon paint, colour upon colour in this painting was my way of depicting this complicated landscape. I used a palette knife to create layers and depth using primary colours.
This is the second painting I did in series of work during the COVID lockdowns. This pandemic is something that has affected people in many different ways and paintings inspired by emotions and events seemed like an appropriate way of capturing the rollercoaster that has been 2020.
